Sharon Eileen Maher Wild Tuesday, January 30, 1940 - Tuesday, April 4, 2017
Sharon Eileen Maher Wild, 77, of Newburgh, passed peacefully on April 4, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Newburgh, New York, on January 30, 1940, to the late John Maher and Pearl Hartman Maher. She is survived by her brothers John Maher, Dennis Maher, William Maher, Michael Maher and her sister Catherine Maher Nicoli. She is predeceased by her ex-husband, Frank Wild. She is survived by their four children Joseph Wild, Kelly and her husband Paul Acampora, Frank Wild and his wife Andrea Gagliardi and Tracy Wild. Her grandchildren Robert Cuomo Ill, Megan Wild, Christina Acampora, Emily Acampora and Alexander Russo. Her many nieces and nephews and by her long-time loving companion, Allen Cook. She was employed by the American Felt and Filter Company of New Windsor, New York until she took on the job of being a full- time Grandma and Dollar-Store enthusiast. She loved yard sales and penny socials and had a massive collection of milk glass. She was happiest at the horse track or in front of a bingo card and her smile never failed to light up a room. She always had something to say and she always had a way of making you feel like you were her favorite. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart, her giving nature and her infectious laugh. The family would like to thank Achieve Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Liberty, New York. The heart your staff put into caring for Sharon was outstanding. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held Saturday, April 8th from 3:00 to 6:00pm at the Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home in Newburgh, New York. The burial will be held on Friday, April 14th at 11 am at the Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor, New York.
